Starting
in fall of 2005, Webnash
Productions is collaborating with National Guitar Workshops
to bring you more workshops. We
plan to expand to 12 workshops per year by the spring of 07.
We will be bringing you some new teachers, such as John Jorgenson
and Peppino D’Augustino. The friendly staff at NGW will
be taking reservations and handling the advertising and administration.
The registration and schedule links will take you to their site.
Webnash Productions (Mike) will still be at the workshops, which
will continue to be held at Shaker Meadows.
Webnash
Productions is the vision of its founder;
Michael
Erkkinen. It is a business that:
The
unusual name of "Webnash" was
the result of its founder's first good guitars being a Webber,
and a National, and needing to invent a screen name for the,
then new, invention known as the internet. The workshops are
three day intensives that occur at least once per month in the
Berkshire Hills, led by a world famous staff of teacher/performers.
Webnash hosts one concert at a local venue during every workshop,
to expose the general public to the fine music of its staff.
Webnash also offers educationally-oriented performances to the
general public for the purpose of exposing a wide audience to
the origins and varieties of traditional American acoustic music.
These performances are multi-media and audience interactive,
including slide shows, lecture, song composition, and performers
playing songs and demonstrating musical styles. The performances
happen at museums, libraries, cultural and community centers,
coffee houses, art centers, festivals, and private homes. Through
scholarships, grants, and an attitude of inclusion, Webnash attempts
to make its programs available to all who have a strong interest.
